At BGF, making a difference goes beyond funding—it’s about creating meaningful change in the communities we serve.
Through our social impact days initiative, every BGF employee can dedicate two days each year to work with charities, leveraging their time and expertise to drive real impact.
Our legal and finance teams recently partnered with BGF Foundation charity partners LTSB and MyBnk as well as The King’s Trust to support young people in boosting their confidence and developing professional skills.
Read on to find out how BGF is helping young people kickstart their careers.
BGF legal team hosts aspiring lawyers from LTSB
Our legal team welcomed ten young people from LTSB’s law graduate programme into the BGF Birmingham office. The day was packed with career insights, skills workshops, and mock interviews, providing invaluable experience and advice to those starting out in the legal profession.
Beyond the session, our legal team also extended their support by offering to review live applications and provide direct, actionable feedback to attendees looking for new opportunities. We’re incredibly proud of the dedication our legal team showed while volunteering and the young people were equally inspired.
“All the advice was tailored to me—it was reassuring and helpful but also direct and personal. It helped build my confidence, address imposter syndrome, and got me thinking about parts of my personality that would thrive in an interview.”

This heartfelt feedback demonstrates the impact of creating spaces where young talent is nurtured, supported, and inspired.
BGF finance team empowers MyBnk participants
Meanwhile, our finance team collaborated with MyBnk and The King’s Trust to host eight young people for a session designed to increase practical skills and confidence.
Participants engaged in financial money management training, CV-building workshops, and one-on-one mock interviews. Working in small groups alongside MyBnk facilitators, the finance team ensured every participant felt supported and valued.
The value of social impact days
For BGF employees, these social impact days provide a sense of purpose and a tangible way to contribute beyond their professional roles.
Commenting on the BGF volunteers, one of the facilitators shared:
“You’ve helped to contribute towards a positive change in their [the young people’s] perspective of themselves. Now they’ll be more confident that they can and do fit into these settings.”
By investing time and knowledge, we’re creating a ripple effect—improving individual lives, strengthening community connections, and driving long-term positive change.
