James ChewShareholder Director - HSBC
James is Group Head, Regulatory Strategy in Group Public Affairs at HSBC Holdings plc. He considers key regulatory and public policy developments which will affect the HSBC Group across the world.
Since joining the HSBC Group in 1993, James worked on a number of joint ventures and was previously Deputy Head of Strategy and Group Head of Acquisitions and Disposals.
As part of the Business Finance Taskforce in the UK in 2010, James was the interim CEO responsible for the establishment of BGF. More recently, he served on the EU’s High Level Forum for Capital Markets Union. He has a degree in Geography from Oxford, and an MBA from the Cass Business School, London, where he is also an Honorary Visiting Professor.
