Sharon Baylay joins Elements Talent Solutions as Chair
Elements Talent Solutions, a disruptor to the $200+ billion worldwide recruitment market, has appointed Sharon Baylay as Chair, following an introduction from BGF’s Talent Network, which connects portfolio companies with the expertise to support growth. The business received a £3.45m investment from BGF in 2018 to accelerate its growth across Europe, the US and the APAC region.
Elements have pioneered a model which focuses on people – and seeks to change the fundamental mechanics of the industry. Its ‘embedded model’ involves consultants working on-site within the hiring function of the client company and partnering with them on every element of the hiring process. It has attracted clients from global brands such as Spotify, iZettle, GoCardless, Just Eat and King.com (the company behind the game “Candy Crush”).
With a 30-year career in the tech sector, backed by extensive commercial and marketing expertise – most notably Board positions at Microsoft and the BBC – Sharon Baylay’s executive career has been dominated by roles that have helped transform consumer behaviour through the utilisation and implementation of technology. Sharon has also developed a wide-ranging portfolio career and currently holds several non-executive directorships, including with Ted Baker, Unique X and BGF-backed Unique X.
BGF’s Talent Network is one of the largest groups of board-level non-executives in the UK and Ireland. Focused on providing support and expertise for BGF-backed companies, its connections range from board-level executives, strategic partners and corporate advisors, to policy-makers, angel investors and sector experts.
Daniel Goldstein, CEO of Elements Talent Solutions, said: “For as long as I can remember, the recruitment industry has been characterised by poor professional standards and a consequent lack of trust and respect from clients. Our ‘embedded model’ seeks to subvert that dynamic completely. By investing heavily in the training of our people, we create talent acquisition professionals who are genuine experts in their domain.
“We are delighted to welcome Sharon to the Elements team. She brings unrivalled experience and expertise to the role and will help us to scale up and bring our embedded model to new sectors and geographies.”
Sharon Baylay, Chair of BGF, said: “As an effective disruptor to the traditional recruitment model, Elements has successfully scaled over the last few years and developed a fantastic client base. I’m thrilled to be joining the business as such an exciting time, as it looks overseas to further growth.”
