Wigan-based Evolution Acqua appoints David Algar as non-executive chair

David Algar, ex-CEO of fishing tackle business Fox International, has joined Evolution Acqua’s board as non-executive chair. David is a member of BGF’s Talent Network, one of the largest pools of non-executive directors in the UK and Ireland.

BGF invested £12 million in Evolution Acqua, a designer, manufacturer and supplier of water filtration products with a focus on the aquatics industry for indoor and outdoor fish.

BGF’s funding will allow Evolution Acqua to capitalise on growth opportunities in core markets and drive international expansion. The team, led by CEO and founder Nick Jackson, will also use the funding to expand into other vertical markets, including swimming pools and aquaculture.
