BGF is the most active growth capital investor in the UK and Ireland, with over 200 team members, working across 15 offices. We exist to provide patient, minority equity investment and value creation support to ambitious businesses.
What we do
First set up in 2011, we now back hundreds of companies across a variety of investment stages, sectors and regions — with a well-capitalised, evergreen balance sheet of £3bn. We partner with founders and management teams to add value beyond our investments, without taking control.
To date, we’ve helped grow the likes of Brompton, Amdaris, St Pierre Groupe and Kids Planet, and successfully launched BGF in the Republic of Ireland.
And as a certified UK B Corp, we’ve also demonstrated our commitment to socially and environmentally responsible practices, from energy, waste and water use to worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.

Our award-winning Diversity Action Group (DAG) supports this mission and acts as a sounding board in the shaping of our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) strategy. We’ve also partnered with Diversity VC, EmployAbility, 10,000 Black Interns, ADHD Girls, The Tall Wall, and GAIN to help drive these efforts.
We also offer internships, to help diversify and nurture talent in our industry, working with universities and recruitment partners to develop the next generation.
Internships
Each summer, we look for students in their final or penultimate year of study (Undergraduate & Master’s) — with a passion for entrepreneurship and an interest in the world around us.
Our eight-week internships include training, mentoring and networking, and provides broad exposure across the business and the opportunity to develop practical skills, to support our interns in their future careers.
In line with our EDI efforts, there are no prior work experience or grade requirements for our internships, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, degree disciplines and universities.
