BGF appoints Anita Dougall as Non-Executive Director

The appointment strengthens our Board, with Anita bringing more than two decades of entrepreneurial leadership and deep expertise in data-driven innovation.

10 December 2025

BGF has appointed Anita Dougall to its Board, as Non-Executive Director. Anita is CEO of Sagacity Solutions, a data intelligence business for consumer brands, which she co-founded in 2005. Anita’s experience in scaling and leading a high-growth business will further add to the BGF Board’s entrepreneurial expertise. It follows the appointment of Non-Executive Director Rosaleen Blair CME, Founder of AMS Solutions, in 2024.

In 2025, Anita Dougall and Sagacity Solutions were ranked No. 2 in The Independent E2E Forum’s 100 fastest-growing female-led businesses in the UK, which recognises female-led or founded companies, based on their growth rates over the past three years. This recognition underscores Anita’s strong track record of building and scaling a high-performing, data-led business.

Anita Dougall, Non-Executive Director at BGF, commented: “Having built and scaled a data-driven business, I understand the importance of combining investment, support and strong partnerships to unlock value. That’s why I’m pleased to be joining the Board of BGF – an investor that offers not just funding, but a full suite of value creation support for ambitious entrepreneurs looking to scale.

“The UK must deliver many more success stories across the broad base of entrepreneurial business that exists here, but that can only happen if capital flows into innovation at the right time. BGF is a driving force behind this mission, which is one I am deeply committed to supporting.”

Prior to founding Sagacity, Anita held senior roles in investment banking at NatWest Markets and within One2One (now EE), where she led credit strategy. Anita’s background in scaling a technology-led business and navigating complex, regulated sectors will be particularly valuable as BGF continues to invest in digital transformation and AI-driven innovation – unlocking value and operational efficiencies both internally and across BGF’s portfolio of over 350 businesses.

As part of the Board update, Alice Avis MBE will step down as Non-Executive Director in April 2026, following a 10-year tenure.

News of Anita’s appointment follows BGF’s recent pledge to deploy £3 billion to high-potential British businesses over the next five years, of which at least £300 million will be dedicated to female-powered businesses.

“We are delighted to welcome Anita to BGF’s Board. Her track record in data innovation and scaling a high-performing business will assist BGF, as it invests in some of the UK and Ireland’s fastest-growing businesses.”
