The BN Care group has completed the acquisition of its sixth care home, following new investment from BGF.

Wade Newmark, the CEO of BN Care, will now step up the company’s efforts to provide a growing number of elderly people across the South West of England with “top-class” care, after announcing the purchase of the Court House in Devon.

Situated in the picturesque countryside town of Cullompton, the home will provide assistance for people living with dementia and other age-related conditions that require specialist personal care.

As the new owner of the Court House independent care home, which was officially rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission, BN Care is now focusing its energy on growing the “incredible legacy” left by its founders, Marcus Lyward and Lorna Turner.

Following BGF investment, there are now plans to create more rooms for the region’s ageing population as well as a seamless network of homes across the group to cater for all care needs.

Wade Newmark, CEO of BN Care, said: “I am truly honoured to be taking over Court House because it’s a very special care home. It has been extremely well run by its previous owners and by loyal staff who are dedicated to looking after residents with the utmost professionalism.”

“I will aim to build on an incredible legacy, while at the same time enabling BN Care to play its role in meeting the growing need for residential care across the South West. As we look to add extra high-quality accommodation at Court House, this acquisition is also representative of our expansion plans to create an integrated care pathway across the region.”

Commenting on the transaction, Marcus Lyward and Lorna Turner, added: “We are delighted to have been able to pass Court House on to Wade Newmark and BN Care. This will enable the home to further develop and we wish the management team and staff at Court House every success for the future.”

BN Care plans to add 12 rooms to Court House which currently accommodates 30 self-funded people, who are looked after by 50 staff. This is part of a wider roadmap to expand BN Care’s offering, from high-quality care for people with less acute needs to those requiring end-of-life care.

Chris Jones, Investor at BGF, said: “We couldn’t be more confident in continuing to support BN Care’s expansion plans, which will ensure more people in the South West benefit from top-class professional care. Wade and the rest of the team are passionate about delivering an outstanding level of service and making sure all BN Care homes work together, for the benefit of residents.”

With plans to build a group of at least 10 homes in the future, BN Care’s current portfolio also consists of Barton Place Nursing Home, Hay House and The Dales in Exeter, St Vincent’s in Sussex and Bymead House in Dorset.
