Indro Mukerjee joins BGF’s Deep Tech & Climate Advisory Board
The group helps shape BGF’s investment strategy in the climate and deep tech sectors, analysing scaling challenges, market trends and opportunities.

BGF is pleased to announce the appointment of Indro Mukerjee to its Deep Tech & Climate Advisory Board, a high-level group of experts, chaired by Baroness Brown of Cambridge.
Established in 2022, the Deep Tech & Climate Advisory Board plays a pivotal role in shaping BGF’s investment strategy in the evolving deep tech sector. The Board provides critical analysis on opportunities, scaling challenges, and market trends, ensuring BGF remains at the forefront of investing in transformational technologies that address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Indro Mukerjee is a highly experienced business leader, with CEO experience across technology and industrial businesses, from multinationals to startups and private equity-backed ventures. With a global career, spanning Asia, the US and Europe, Indro has led innovation, fast growth, spinouts, M&A and business transformation, across many different business situations.
He has been strongly committed to supporting skills development, including co-founding and chairing the UK Electronics Skills Foundation. He also has significant public sector leadership experience, having been CEO of Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, for three and a half years (to September 2024).
Indro joins a line-up of prominent board members, including Juliet Davenport OBE, Founder of Good Energy and a champion of renewable energy innovation, and Laura Sandys CBE, a leading climate scientist and energy policy expert. Together, the Board will continue to support BGF, as it deepens its commitment to investing in deep tech and climate-focused ventures across the UK and Ireland.

In addition, BGF invests in a range of climate tech companies, tackling pressing global issues including decarbonisation, resource efficiency, and environmental improvement. Recent Early Stage investments in this space include Phlux Technology, Cambridge GaN Devices, DEScycle, and Sunswap.
