We first backed Monodraught in 2017, providing the business with growth capital and scaleup support. Since then, Monodraught has benefited from growing demand for energy-efficient buildings and an increased focus on the green agenda.
Our investment enabled the business to deliver significant product innovation, broaden its commercial offering, consolidate its position in the education sector, and expand into new sectors and geographical markets.
And alongside funding, we also helped Monodraught to embed ESG into its internal operations, and introduced the team to its Non-Executive Chair.
“Growth capital has allowed us to accelerate our plans and, more than that, BGF’s team has also brought valuable strategic expertise, as well as commercial and operational support.”
Andrew McCubbin
CEO of Monodraught
The result? Monodraught generated strong financial growth during our partnership, with a 7x increase in profitability, supporting significant job creation at its High Wycombe headquarters.
We successfully exited our investment in the business in 2025, when it was acquired by Genuit Group plc. Due to Monodraught’s strong performance during our partnership, the exit generated a return of 11x MM and an IRR of 37.5% for BGF, making it one of our highest returns ever delivered.
