RiverRidge started out as a small skip hire and landfill business, and has since grown into Northern Ireland’s premier waste management, recycling, and energy from waste company.

We first partnered with RiverRidge in 2016. Our investment and support enabled the company to develop state-of-the-art recycling infrastructure, expand its operations across Northern Ireland (both organically and via acquisition), and build out a top-tier management team. We also introduced the team to its Non-Executive Chair, experienced waste sector director Jim Meredith, to further accelerate RiverRidge’s growth.

During our six-year partnership, the company’s revenues increased by 40%. Its employee count also grew to 280 staff, across five sites, and the business is now a minority stakeholder in Northern Ireland’s only energy from waste plant.

In 2023, Cube Infrastructure Managers and Equitix Investment Management jointly acquired a majority stake in the business, to support the next stage of its growth journey. The deal delivered strong returns on our initial investment.
