Hi-tech painter of luxury cars races ahead with BGF
First set up in 1988 in founder James Sharp’s shed, Paintbox now supplies automotive body kits and hi-tech spray paint processing to a host of car brands. The Midlands-based company started out by servicing the F1 industry, and now counts Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover amongst its customers.
In February 2016 Paintbox accepted a £6m investment from BGF. The investment allowed Paintbox to install a new robotics production line and expand its operations overseas to support its highest profile customers.
Tamlyn Jones of the Birmingham Mail recently caught up with James Sharp, Paintbox’s founder, as well as BGF investor Aaron Baker, to find out how the firm is using BGF’s investment.
