Edinburgh-based Optima Partners was founded in 2013, as an associate-led customer experience and data transformation consultancy. The business has since gone from strength to strength, expanding its capabilities, team and impact across a range of critical sectors, including the launch of a health data science division.
Following BGF’s investment in 2022, Optima scaled into a market-leading applied data and AI transformation partner, trusted by global blue-chip businesses. Accelerated by growth capital and support from our team, Optima achieved 40% revenue growth in 2024, as well as significant headcount growth, with additional offices opening in London and Bristol.
In 2025, we successfully exited our investment in the business, delivering a 4x MM return and an IRR of more than 50% for BGF. Optima was acquired by Growth Capital Partners (GCP), with BGF reinvesting and continuing to support the business as a minority shareholder.
