BGF portfolio company Decora acquires TCMM Group

Lisburn-based Mzuri Group, one of the leading companies in the window blind industry which trades under several brands including Decora, has completed the acquisition of the TCMM Shutter Group.

TCMM, founded in 2002, has become one of the largest interior wood shutter distributors in the UK. Its retail brands including Shutterly Fabulous and California Blinds. TCMM has an additional operation in the USA under the Shutter Store brand.

The company, which employs 66 people, will continue to operate independently under current management. Its UK headquarters will remain in Brighton and in the USA in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Following the acquisition, Mzuri now employs a total of 1,227 people, including over 1,000 at its headquarters in Lisburn.

Mzuri Holdings was established in 2018 by the owners of Decora Blind Systems to enable an acquisition growth strategy. In 2020 the business received significant investment from BGF, the UK and Ireland’s most active investor in growing businesses. The funding is being used to support Decora’s continued strong growth via expansion into European markets, strategic M&A, and continued investment in product development and infrastructure.

Established 40 years ago, Decora has grown exponentially into a well-known and trusted brand, creating innovative window solutions in the European window blind industry. In 2020, Decora completed the acquisition of Domus Lumina, a €10m turnover Lithuanian-headquartered manufacturing partner.
